About
“I’ll Love You Forever, Don’t Be Crazy” was Cara’s senior solo show for her Bachelors of Fine Art at DAAP, she also did another show with this collection at DAAP Works in the following weeks. The pieces we’re done with paper except for the furniture, props and frames. She choose to make a show that is close to a personal story of growth along with adapting. In her life Cara had made many mistakes, she learned and began to grow. During this time she learned what it meant to be accountable and what it means to be a true adult.
Artist Statement
Remember to commemorate the days coming as opposed to the days that have passed. In this body of work, I focus on symbolism, Victorian flower language, and paper art. My work looks into forgiveness and compassion, and to show personal growth in my romantic relationship. This memory garden is intended to commemorate moving forward in a relationship after hardships, but also to welcome personal growth. I use paper to show the fragility and finality of actions in interpersonal relationships and in our lives. It is important to remember that nothing lasts forever and that you can always grow, even if you can't uncut the paper.
