Sketchbook 2024

2024 was a year of taking risks, new challenges and embracing a new creative process. My sketch books were often never finished and full of abandoned ideas and work. Sketchbooks would become an idea grave yard and often would never be finished or only used for one specific medium or concept.

I devloped a new practice in creating artwork in the sketchbook. With the “making it fit” mindset. I was no longer tied down by what medium the book could handle or ideas specifically for one book. If a page needed to be added I would take another piece of paper and tape it to the inside of the sketchbook. I would add new textures, mediums and collage my artwork into the book so my art was more accessible to my spontaneity when it comes to mediums, ideas and creative whims.

I often fly by the seed of my pants and in my developing work I want to show careful consideration to aesthetics but also my ability to blend ideas and show overarching themes.
